چکیده

DNA/RNA Description TRPV1 gene consists of 17 exons and 17 introns including a coding region and a 5' and a 3' non-coding region. Transcription There are four transcript variants encoding the same protein, but with different segments in the 5' UTR (var.1, var.2, var.3, var.4) and one alternative splice variant lacking exon 7 (TRPV1b). TRPV1 gene transcription was demonstrated in different cells and tissues, but no data are available on TRPV1 variant expression profiles.

Vanilloid transient receptor potential cation channels: an overview.

The mammalian branch of the Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) superfamily of cation channels consists of 28 members. They can be subdivided in six main subfamilies: the TRPC ('Canonical'), TRPV ('Vanilloid'), TRPM ('Melastatin'), TRPP ('Polycystin'), TRPML ('Mucolipin') and the TRPA ('Ankyrin') group. The TRPV subfamily comprises channels that are critically involved in nociception and thermo-...

Pharmacology of vanilloid transient receptor potential cation channels.

Depending on their primary structure, the 28 mammalian transient receptor potential (TRP) cation channels identified so far can be sorted into 6 subfamilies: TRPC ("Canonical"), TRPV ("Vanilloid"), TRPM ("Melastatin"), TRPP ("Polycystin"), TRPML ("Mucolipin"), and TRPA ("Ankyrin"). The TRPV subfamily (vanilloid receptors) comprises channels critically involved in nociception and thermosensing (...

Expression of Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid (TRPV) Channels in Different Passages of Articular Chondrocytes

Ion channels play important roles in chondrocyte mechanotransduction. The transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV) subfamily of ion channels consists of six members. TRPV1-4 are temperature sensitive calcium-permeable, relatively non-selective cation channels whereas TRPV5 and TRPV6 show high selectivity for calcium over other cations. In this study we investigated the effect of time in cu...

Homo- and heteromeric assembly of TRPV channel subunits.

The vanilloid receptor-related TRP channels (TRPV1-6) mediate thermosensation, pain perception and epithelial Ca(2+) entry. As the specificity of TRPV channel heteromerization and determinants governing the assembly of TRPV subunits were largely elusive, we investigated the TRPV homo- and heteromultimerization. To analyze the assembly of TRPV subunits in living cells, we generated fluorescent f...
